today I was cut open yet again
hernia this time
I’d been saying not just joking
I don’t want my entrails hanging out
they laughed but
they got in there found
my colon was indeed
they untangled it pushed it back in
meshed the hernia
glued me back up
gave me the list
of do’s and don’ts
do lots of fluid periodic regular
don’t eat like an ex-President
nothing greasy
I’m upgraded like an iPhone
or the car that drives itself
new model every year
but the old school model
still is good
holds up very well
I can hardly wait
to answer the same old question
that I’ve asked before:
What’s next?
