Carbonation Bubbles

Carbonated

When they carbonate a drink, they get serious and really mean it.

They force carbon dioxide, don’t ask me how, into the spaces between water molecules, and when you unscrew the top, you release the pressure and voila, effervescence!

I drank some, screwed the top back on, opened it later, and voila, still fizzy, effervescence!

I thought I was getting 7-UP, but no, it was Sprite.

But that’s OK.

Sprite is fine!
It’s Lemon-Lime!

And the fizz lasts unaccountably long, don’t ask me how.

It takes a long time to go flat.

And while I’m on the subject, carbonation, I can’t help empathizing with soft drinks. I’m under so much pressure from the weight of the world I’m ready to explode. Then someone unscrews me and I fizz.

Then my head is screwed back on, but I can still fizz.

Don’t ask me how.
