Those paid-for-hire disrupters in their red caps stand up in the audience and yell out at the speaker, interrupting the proceedings.

The TV cameras zoom in.

If the heckler is escorted out by the police on camera, he gets paid extra.

Even gullible me, I say, “Didn’t we just see that same guy yelling out at that other rally across the country? I wonder if they pay his travel expenses.”

And then I watch the small crowd in the empty bleachers at the sadly diminished hoopla as the troops parade before the President and I say, “Apparently here they cut costs. Clearly a misjudgment. Probably even paid some who, having got the money, didn’t bother to show up. But the rich have enough money to put on a better show. But, cutting costs and pinching pennies, they decide, Hey, people won’t notice. They’ll see what we tell them to see. It’s the biggest crowd and nobody has ever…”

They think people will believe anything, and if seeing is believing, all you have to do is tell them what they believe and they’ll think they saw it.

You can fool some of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, all the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time.

There isn’t enough money for that.
