A birthday celebration for America.
I feel passionately about many things, maybe most things. I’m an emotional guy.
I’m a passionate American.
Not because America is perfect. It’s not.
But America is known as the last best hope, the land of the firsts, the home of the brave, the hope for the future, a beacon in the dark.
It’s my country, and I love it.
And I’m not afraid to say so.
And, as with so many relationships rooted in equality, I’m free to criticize constructively, and take criticism as good as I gave. We can talk about it.
We have a tradition of separating the good from the bad, keeping the good and throwing out the bad, like the bathwater, and raising the baby to be better than we are.
O America, where have you gone?
It’s your Birthday.
I have the candles for the cake.
Please show up for the feast.
