Hearing Aide

Sometimes I don’t know when people are talking to me. They say, “Did you hear what I said?”

I would joke and say, “What?”

They would say, “It’s not funny. You need a hearing aid.”

I would say, “What?”

I thought of a solution. People could wear a screen hanging down from around their necks. It would show subtitles. But then I thought, because thinking always causes problems, in order to read the subtitles I would need my glasses. Unless, because I’m near sighted, I would have to lean closer to their chest than they were comfortable with. So many good ideas get lost because of reality.

I may just give in and get the device and learn how to wear it.

In the mean time, I’ll listen harder.

I know you have things to say, things to tell me.

I’m all ears.
