I wish I knew more about things. But even if I did, it wouldn’t matter. I’m saying that because my mood is down. It’s down because of the news.
It’s hard to hear the news when it’s bad. It seems the world’s gone mad.
I don’t understand it. And even if I did, I don’t know what to do about it.
So many people are crazy, or act crazy. They don’t know what’s true, and don’t care.
The insightful and eloquent mind just explained it to me or laid the blame. They said, “It’s Fox News. That’s all so many people only ever know. They swallow what they’re told. For them there’s no other point of view. They have no other access to information. It’s all a master plot for right wing control, and it’s working.”
I was presented with two possibilities. Either one is enough to explain. Together, they seem unstoppable.
Number One: It may be that Rupert Murdoch, the Fox News owner, is only in it just for the money, though he seems to enjoy the power. When you monopolize TV LA RB the media, you get filthy rich.
Or it’s politics. When you control what people are allowed to know, you’ve got them in your power and in your pocket. It’s the way domination works to stay in power. As they say, history is written by the conquerors.
The “unwashed” are brain washed. “It must be true, I saw it on television,” or, “It’s on the Internet.”
The same masterplan thinking has filled the courts with judges of choice, all the way to Supreme. There’s nowhere else to turn, no avenue for redress, no way to right a wrong. It’s a dead end of no hope.
What to do? What to do?
If the herds are the masses, and the few boss slave drivers drive the majority to the slaughter, how do you stop it?
Exercise the power of the majority.
How?
Get the majority smart enough to see the pattern.
How?
Get more diversity in the media available to the hinterland.
Get people to stay in school long enough to be able to read. Then make books available.
So… expand the media, support libraries (and bookstores), invest in education, give teachers a living wage, let workers share the profits they created, keep those profits under control so they don’t go beyond enough and don’t fill the pockets of the minority rich…
If there are beautiful words to live by, live by them.
If you preach the brotherhood of men, practice what you preach.
Let people live together and be happy.
That’s not so hard to do, is it?
