Life is for living

Life is for living.

If you’re not living it, you’re wasting it.

What’s the point of an unlived life?

I’m an example to myself. I’m still learning to appreciate things. Not to chastise them for being what they’re not, but to appreciate them for being what they are.

Of course this comes with disclaimers. There are things and people I can’t stand because they are what they are.

Some things and people you just can’t change.

But that doesn’t stop me from trying.

Not yet.

But I have better things to do than fritter my life away on lost causes.

Self analysis gives me sufficient answers to questions that need answers.

Manageability controls my choices.

I’d rather be happy than sad, if I can manage it.

I look for “words to live by” to help me manage.

“Do no harm.”

I like that idea, that phrasing.

“Life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness.” “The common good.”

I’m down with that, all aboard.

Though there’s never enough, there is that point when enough is just enough because it has to be, because the alternatives are worse.

So…

As long as I’m alive, I’ll live my life as best I can, doing no harm, loving, not hating, ‘til death do us part.

So…

In spite of everything, I’m living happy as an act of choice.

Join me, won’t you?
