My Mother

Remembering my Mother on Mother’s Day

My Mother was a spirited woman, eager to try new things, which also meant a short attention span. She loved my Father very much, but was too much of a free spirit to stay with him as they both got older. Though she never found a forever mate, and never stuck with a commitment for long, I know she loved me and did the best she could as a mother.

I was able to reconnect with her several times toward the end of her life, where she was now living once again in Buffalo, and I recently found a photo of her wearing one of her unusual hats that she loved so much, still dressing up for every occasion, still active and getting about in the world, and that’s the way I remember her.

  1. I can tell your mom was beautiful as a young woman. She’s so stylish. And you’re a loving son
