That’s a word we’re going to hear more often. The accuracy is startling.
J.D. Vance really is weird, and it’s even weird that he keeps reminding us.
We always knew Trump was weird, getting weirder, and just didn’t quite have the word for it, until now.
I think I was only called weird once in my life. It was at a party with some friends my wife knew better because she was more social and had grown up being contemporary. They played the kind of music I didn’t listen to, and there was a lot of talk about drugs, and not just talk. I felt out of place. That’s easy for me to feel, because I’m still learning how to be around other people. I’m better than I was.
At the party, one guy came up to me, looked closer at my face, and said, “You’re weird.” I didn’t know if I was being described or flattered.
Now I’m learning what the word means, and how to apply it.
The whole country is learning with me.
