Free Speech with Limits

There are things that shouldn’t be said.
If I think they might be funny
and I try them out,
people say,
“That’s not funny.”
Some people are so judgmental.
If I try them
on my family,
they say,
“Don’t even say that!”
and
“Don’t even think it!”
So I try not to think it
and that just makes me think it.
They say,
“If you think that,
keep it to yourself.”
So I try to
keep it to myself,
but then even I don’t know
what it sounds like.
But maybe that’s a good thing.
There are things that shouldn’t be said.
