As I sit on the toilet
taking care of business
the light above the sink
to my left
hits the wall just right
and I make
shadow puppets
with my hands
and fingers
running through
the classic favorites
the bird that spreads
its wings and flies
the bunny rabbit
nose nibbling
flopping its ears
the wild wolf dog
protruding its snout
as I relearn again
the daily lessons of life
that boredom
needn’t constipate
the mind
