Let’s all go to the Mausoleum

Kristina, trying to get me walking
because I need more exercise,
tried suggesting things in the neighborhood
places we could go
we haven’t visited yet, said,

“Let’s all go down to the Mausoleum”
and started singing,
“Let’s all go down to the Mausoleum,
Let’s go to the Mausoleum,
Let’s all go down to the Mausoleum
to see what we can see.”
and I joined in singing clumsily
“to see who we can’t see
to see who isn’t there
like me
because I’m only visiting
passing through
out the other door
into life
because there’s more to life
like living.”
