the sunken ship discovered
from millennia of deep water
cargo hermetically sealed
brought up to present light and air
wine jugs amphora bottles
unsealed tasted
“Mmm…”
and boxes canisters opened
lifeless powder once flour
mixed with present water
pounded kneaded shaped
baked unleavened
still holds the memory of bread
led by the ghost of Jacques Cousteau
we plumb the depths
and search for sunken ships
