I went to visit a friend
I hadn’t seen in a while,
and saw again why.
He said,
“Thirsty?”
and led me into the kitchen
where a new Trump Refrigerator
bulged and loomed in the corner.
He got out a glass,
pulled down
the refrigerator’s pants
and placed the glass
under the small spigot,
pushed hard
and filled the glass
less than half,
then moved it over
to the right,
pushed again
and filled the rest
with little round ice cubes
and handed it to me,
saying,
“Drink that.
It’s like kool-aid
full of additives
with absolutely no extra value
that’ll do whatever ails you.”
He pulled up the fridge’s pants,
pulled the tie
to open the door
revealing stacks and stacks
of burgers
and rows of artificial drink.
He looked at me and asked,
“Hungry?”
