Which of the common mistakes

Which of the common mistakes
should I let go?
The grammar of our language
Isn’t learned enough.
Just heard on the radio
the man said
“for my wife and I.”
“For I?!”
No, of course you know
preposition object
it should be
“for me.”
Now that sounds right.
And singulars and plurals
get mixed up.
"I'm an alumni."
That's a whole nother thing.
And I was shocked
to hear Orson Welles
like so many others
mispronounce “nuclear”
and I idolized that man.
And I even find myself
speaking wrong
because mistakes
heard so often
after awhile
sound right.
So whatcha
gonna do?
Go with the flow?
Even when that flow
is over the dam
and over the edge?
Guess so.
And guess I’ll keep on talking
‘til I stop.
Not yet ready
for my famous advice:
If you have nothing to say
shut up
