We were out traveling around and decided we should take a picture of us. We found an appropriate backdrop and thought about how to pose.
A helpful passer-by said, “Want me to take your picture?”
We said, “Yes, please, thank you,” and he took our camera and we posed.
He said, “Get a little closer together” as he backed up for perspective.
“A little closer, hold that pose,” and he backed up some more.
Then he turned and ran away with our camera.
We’re such trusting people, we too often can’t see what’s coming.
Or going.
There goes another packet of memories. We can’t even conjure them, because we never got to see what we looked like.
Memories become lost, especially those we never had.
Life is full of loss.
We do the best we can.
