  1. Just wonderful memories of Longfellow. Mr. Johnson, I believe was our principal then and your description of him was spot on.

I always enjoyed your tour of the schoools basement area that was normally off limits to everyone. It housed many archival items from the district and was just amazing to me. It was the start of my love of museums to this day.

    • Dear Raffi,
Thanks for cheering up my old age with memories of the good old days, the Age of Johnson, the catacombs of the school with those treasures of “antiquity” that I’m surprised more people didn’t know about. I’m glad you’re reading my blog, I hope also seeing my vlog, and maybe reading my book, For Lo These Many, which harks back to earlier times that I’m eager to share with the world. Hearing from my students gives meaning to my life.
      Take care, always.

  2. Gary Sterling you were the best teacher I ever had you taught me how to write reports and we wrote a lot of them. Your class was never boring . Being able to write reports has always helped me. Thank you so very much!

    • Dear Renee,
It’s wonderful to reconnect with memories of times shared. It’s a joy for me to know how lucky I am to have had such success in my life, to teach students who “got it” and still do. I loved students who loved learning.
      Take care, always.
