I have pennies.
Collected over the years, from loose change, put through the slot into the Penny Pig.
I decided to empty the Pig, stack the pennies in piles of ten, and roll five stacks at a time in the red paper coin wrappers provided by the bank.
I have forty-four rolls.
Pennies are now outlawed. They will never be minted again.
They’re now collectible antiques.
Most are still worth a penny.
They’re copper coins, and used to be made of copper.
One year they were made of steel, because of the War, when copper was needed.
Check the dates. They show when, and the old pennies also show where they were minted.
The old collectible antiques are worth more than a penny.
Some are worth 100.1 % of a penny.
I’m waiting for the day when one penny will be worth two.
It’s an investment.
I can take them to the bank and cash them in.
Then I can go buy a cup of coffee.
