I searched my memory
and went to the archives
to see if I could find
what I remember having written,
a copy of a letter of recommendation
for a graduating senior
to the college of his choice
back in 1985.

Found it!

Kristina said, “Dad,
you keep all that stuff?
Do you also keep receipts
every time you fill the gas tank
of the car?”
