Chaz seems inexhaustible to me
because he has a life before
unknown to me
lived largely in parallel
to mine though not as long
and wants to share.

A wake up joke today:

The Mother wakes up
to her young son
bringing her
a steaming cup of coffee.

“Why thanks, Honey,
how sweet of you!”

She drinks some,
notices little
green plastic toy army men clustered
in the bottom of the cup.

She goes to her son, asks
“Why did you put your toys
in the coffee?”

He answers,
“Mom,
it says on tv:

The best part of waking up
is soldiers in your cup!”

And they still have Folger’s coffee,
and it’s as good as ever.
And Chaz reflects,
“Ah, how the media corrupts the minds of youth…”
And I thank him for the joke.
