At last!
The walls are breached,
the log jam broken,
the constipation loosened
and we can go with the flow
escape the fate
worse than death.
The stale mate is over
on both sides.
There’s hope.
No longer age
is the factor
when age worked
for neither.
At last
I can love my country
as once again mine.
I have always been
majoritarian
even when so many
don’t know what.
No longer the voices
of everyone else
go unheard.
Now the young
can spring from the ground
rooted and sprouted
waiting for clement weather
in the unfettered sun.
Tonight I can sleep.
Tomorrow, awake.
