issues come and go
like birds across the sky
on the prevailing winds
they float and fly and wheel
come back again
say no say yes
in and out of fashion
the sky can’t make up its mind
which way to go
I’m not talking about birds
or currents of the air
accountability’s not random
as example change
and climate change
is not only real
but controllable
as the metaphors collapse together
and we’re running out of time
