The value of an itch
is the scratch.
That, and the exercise.
And the satisfaction
of having something to do
and doing it,
the triumph
of achievement.
There are always answers
when you need them.
Reminds me of the old days
when we told moron jokes.
They represented a condition
of which
we
periodically
become
increasingly
aware.
Like today.
Like the joke offered
by a young school kid
in answer to a request
by a popular talk show host
was it Jay Leno?
coulda been Fallon,
but probably Leno.
Me: Ask me why the chicken crossed the road.
You: Ok. Why did the chicken cross the road?
Me: To get to the stoopid person’s house.
You: Uh…
Me: Knock knock!
You: Who’s there?
Me: It’s the chicken.
